Karl-Josef Laumann, Minister for Labor, Health and Social Affairs of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia, yesterday paid his second visit to Achenbach together with Anke Fuchs-Dreisbach, Member of the State Parliament, to discuss the current situation on the gas market and important future investments at the Buschhütten site with the management and the works council. After a tour of the Campus Buschhütten and the new Achenbach Technology Centre, all parties reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening industrial jobs in NRW and to a reliable gas supply. COO Sebastian Groos made it clear that Achenbach was prepared with regard to the drastic measures in various scenarios supported by the management as well as the works council, but would like to have a more reliable forecast of how much gas will be available for heating in the coming winter. André E. Barten, President & CEO added that the considerable energy saving targets at Achenbach on the way to climate neutrality were now paying off, however.
