Eurofoil S.A. in Dudelange, Luxembourg, awarded Achenbach with an order to produce and install a new foil separator type Achenbach OPTIFOIL SepaSlit® AFS 08/10.
The Eurofoil plant at Dudelange started back in 1982, and belongs to the AIAC private equity group for ten years. With the technological backup of the inhouse Innovation Centre, the facility is mainly producing converting foils, household foil and industrial finstock in gauges down to 5 microns.
Achenbach has supplied and supported Eurofoil in the recent years with its expertise in the field of rolling technology. Achenbach is proud that it´s been given the chance for also showing its expertise in the field of separating and slitting technology for the first time.
Main focus of the new machine is toward thin converting foils, and to have equipment at the state of the art in line with the startegy of Eurofoil to be the premium supplier "best in class" of thin gauge converter in Europe. The scope of supply includes entry and exit handling equipment with all associated components for a modern and safe production machine.
An important quality feature is the integration and supply of a pin hole detection and surface inspection system from Arck Sensor, France, designed to detect pinholes from 10 microns during operation under full speed and on both foils.
Another interesting feature is the ability to connect to the Achenbach OPTILINK® system. This platform provides a link to all production stages by means of a digital cloud. This innovative and award-winning solution is generally applied for production and plant management as well as for preventive maintenance, condition monitoring and development of predictive maintenance algorithms. The entire machine documentation including electronic spare parts’ catalogue is also accessible through OPTILINK.
