120 decision-makers from mainly German mechanical and plant engineering companies attended the 8th Summit of the VDMA (German Engineering Federation) Competence Center FUTURE BUSINESS, which, in cooperation with Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft ISI , Karlsruhe, had focused this year on "Future Services 2035" after topics such as "Machine Learning" or "Biologization of Industry 2035". The results of the study, in which both scientists and selected experts from the 3,500 member companies had participated in advance, were now presented over two days. Guests at @Campus Buschhütten as the venue, Dr. Eric Maiser, Head of the Competence Center Future Business and initiator of this great format, was enthusiastic: "Making the future tangible today is the motto of our VDMA Future Business Summits. The Campus Buschhütten was the perfect place for this! It is extremely impressive how heavy engineering with a long tradition and the future trends of our industry in digitalization, sustainability and service merge here - for production and training. Absolutely worth seeing!"
The tour with eight stations through the campus as well as through the Achenbach Buschhütten GmbH & Co. KG production with pre-assembled rolling mill and slitting machinery, the rolling mill simulator as well as the presentation of digital solutions in the field of service or control of entire production facilities also met with great interest. Axel E. Barten, Managing Director of Achenbach Buschhütten Holding and member of the VDMA's Executive Committee, is pleased about the intensive networking during the summit: "It is an honor for the Campus Buschhütten and all those involved here that the Competence Center Future Business chose the Campus Buschhütten as the venue for the summit, but it was also a perfect fit here, considering the purpose and mission statement of the Campus: WE PRODUCE. FUTURE."
