Achenbach Buschütten, world market leader in the field of rolling and slitting equipment, receives prestigious order for Battery Foil Production Plant from Hindalco Industries, India.
Achenbach´s long standing customer Hindalco Industries Ltd. has decided to make substantial investments in high-tech Achenbach machinery and equipment for a new state-of-the-art battery foil production plant. With this comprehensive project, the world´s largest aluminium rolling company is expanding its product portfolio to be the first in India to produce LIB cathode foil serving both domestic and international markets. The new production line will be built on a greenfield site on the Aditya Aluminium plant complex at Lapanga in the state of Orissa, India, supply will start in the third quarter of next year.
The order comprises three Achenbach OPTIMILL® Foil Rolling Mills automated with Achenbach OPTIROLL® i3 Control System and each run with an Achenbach SUPERSTACK II® Filtration Systems, as well as two Achenbach SepaSlit® Foil Slitting Machines, complemented by an Achenbach AIRPURE® Exhaust Air Cleaning System and an Achenbach ROILPURE® Rectification System. Part of the order is furthermore the installation of the Achenbach OPTILINK® System for process data analysis with additional condition monitoring, with the aim to increase productivity and optimize the entire production process.
Each rolling mill will be equipped with innovative technology components and a high level of automation, perfectly suited to meet the highest quality demands of the end product. Particularly noteworthy are special key features for optimum strip flatness such as a DVC Backup Roll, an Achenbach UniFlat® Flatness Measuring Roll as well as an Achenbach UniSpray® Coolant Distribution System and a UniHeat Curved Hot Edge System. Furthermore, the Achenbach UniDry® Blow-off System will ensure evenly dry strip surfaces and the Achenbach UniRon Ironing Roller System will guarantee highest rewinding speeds. Finally, the innovative Achenbach UniMark Roll Mark Detector allows early detection of foil surface defects. Besides these features, the foil rolling mills will also be equipped with energy-efficient fume hoods and the brand-new UniTorque Direct Drive Technology. All in all, the equipment convinces not only regarding quality and productivity, but in terms of sustainability guaranteeing low energy consumption and low emission values.
To meet the high requirements of the highly sensitive battery foil, the separators impress with an optimized slitting section. Special machine arrangements guarantee dust-free conditions in the cutting process and maximum cleanliness of the surroundings. In addition, further key components for inspection, measuring and analysis of the foil quality such as a Pinhole Detection System for 100 percent monitoring of the finest holes ensure high quality of the battery foil.
