By investing in a SmartCell cobot system in portal design from FSK Industries, we have taken another important step towards the future of our production. In future, the collaborative robot will take over the fully automated welding of central core components directly in our welding shop – with a generous working area of 4 × 4 m and the option of flexible workshop programming.
‘Automation enables us to ensure maximum precision and consistent quality, even for complex components and small batch sizes,’ says Achim Niwar, production manager at Achenbach and responsible for the project. "At the same time, the robot ensures continuous, efficient processes. Thanks to simple programming and quick changeovers to different components, we remain flexible and can also manufacture smaller series economically. In addition, the robot relieves employees of physically demanding and repetitive tasks."
With the commissioning of the new Smart Cell cobot system, we are not only strengthening our welding expertise, but also taking an important step towards modern, digitalised manufacturing.
