As part of the WZL Southern Route, around 40 students from the WZL Machine Tool Laboratory at RWTH Aachen University and the Fraunhofer Institute for Production Technology IPT visited us in Buschhütten last week. The excursion to various companies was organised by Thomas A. Wolf.
Following a welcome from Managing Director André E. Barten and a specialist presentation, the students were given a tour of our production halls by Axel Marx and Thomas Dornseifer, gaining fascinating insights into the work and manufacturing processes at Achenbach Buschhütten.
The group then moved on to the Buschhütten Campus. There, the team from SDFS Smarte Demonstrationsfabrik Siegen GmbH presented current research topics and demonstrated how closely the campus and the factory collaborate here on site. The joint visit drew to a close in a relaxed atmosphere over a stew and a beer tasting featuring Buschhütter Landbier.
We are always delighted by the lively exchange between research and industry and are grateful for the proximity and close collaboration – because in Buschhütten, this cooperation is not just theoretical, but a living reality.
Many thanks for the visit and the interesting dialogue!
