Sustainability has been deeply rooted at Achenbach for generations and has always been part of the company philosophy. With our commitment Green.Lean.Digital we are setting clear signals towards future challenges. Our approach to sustainability is twofold: In technological developments and in our own production at the Kreuztal-Buschhütten site.
In the development of new machines and technologies, we are constantly working on a sustainable orientation. Here, our technologies show that sustainability and productivity are no longer seen as opposites, but are increasingly mutually dependent. Sustainable machines consume less energy in production and, above all, in operation, and are therefore more productive because less has to be used for the same output quantity.
In our own production, we also try to incorporate and consider sustainable components, and have already been able to significantly reduce our energy consumption. For example, a 100% climate-neutral bed milling machine has been integrated into production and a solar power plant has been installed on our hall. We are also constantly working on our energy management system and have developed a tool that can be used to view and evaluate the live CO2 footprint of our production.
It is planned that Achenbach will act CO2 neutral in the future, a benefit we can pass on to our customers.
