On 14 November, @Sebastian Groos, COO & CIO of Achenbach, had the opportunity to speak at the federal press conference of the ife – Institute for Custom Manufacturers about the current challenges and innovation potential of custom manufacturing in Germany.
He emphasised that custom manufacturers – such as Achenbach – are the source of many key innovations that later transition into series production. A prime example is the cathode foil produced on our equipment, which makes an important contribution to electromobility and high-tech battery applications. ⚡🔋

At the same time, Sebastian made it clear that custom manufacturers depend on reliable framework conditions – especially in the areas of skilled workers, bureaucracy reduction and energy supply. This is precisely where the challenges are intensifying. ⚠️ With the ife, custom manufacturers therefore have a strong voice, which we at Achenbach expressly support. 💪🤝
The evening also featured the Innovator of the Year awards ceremony, which honoured the best custom manufacturers in the batch size 1+ category. 🏆✨
