This week, the donation from our Christmas market campaign was officially handed over to the DRK-Kinderklinik Siegen gGmbH. The campaign was initiated, planned and carried out by our JAV (youth and trainee representative committee) – with the support of our trainees, the works council and the company.
The sale of homemade cookies baked by hard-working Achenbach employees initially raised around €800, which the works council topped up to €900. Thanks to a donation from the company, we were able to hand over a total of €1,500.
The money will be used to merge the children's islands – inpatient intensive care units with a residential character for children and young people who require permanent ventilation. ‘It was important to us that the money stayed in the region,’ emphasised Steven Chizuk, Lukas Dilling and Kirsten Hoffmann at the donation handover. ‘At the same time, we were impressed by how energetically everyone pulled together – whether trainees, staff, works council or management. We are a team and can achieve a lot together.’
A strong start to the new year – working together to make a difference that brings joy and helps others. We are delighted that the campaign was so successful and that we can support the Siegen Children's Hospital with it. 💙
Many thanks to everyone who helped with the fundraising campaign.
