This week, we strengthened our trusted collaboration with Antonio Carcano 🤝 by initiating a comprehensive modernization of the Spluga 1 foil rolling mill – originally built by Achenbach in 1979 and now upgraded to the latest technological standards.
The modernization will significantly enhance quality and productivity. Key components include:
- Achenbach UniSpray® Coolant Distribution System
- Achenbach UniMark® Roll Mark Detector – early detection of foil surface defects
- Achenbach UniDry® Strip Blow-off System – uniformly dry strip surfaces
- Achenbach OPTIROLL® i3 Automation package
- Achenbach UniFlat® Flatness Measuring Roll – high-precision flatness control
- Achenbach DVC Roll System
The contract was signed at the Mandello headquarters 🏭, a site with a long tradition of producing high-quality packaging products. Notably, production at this location was historically supported by hydropower 🌊. During their visit, Holger Posekardt, Head of Life Cycle Support, and Florian Hütter, Director Commercial Contracts, had the opportunity to tour the historic power plant and existing production lines. Particularly impressive was the production of highest quality packaging solutions.
