We are delighted to announce that the first phase of a major battery foil production in Elizabethtown, Kentucky, has been successfully commissioned. For this pioneering project, which is also the first battery foil production facility on the American continent, Achenbach has supplied high-tech machinery, comprising several state-of-the-art Achenbach OPTIMILL® Foil Rolling Mills as well as Achenbach OPTIFOIL SepaSlit® Slitting Machines accompanied by an Achenbach AIRPURE® Exhaust Purification System.
Achenbach’s long-standing customer Lotte Aluminium Co., Ltd., South Korea, has set up a joint venture to produce highest quality cathode foil for EV batteries with a production capacity of 36,000 tpy. Following the largest European battery foil plant built by Lotte in Hungary, this is now the second major project in which the Korean manufacturer has placed its trust in Achenbach.

What is needed for rolling and slitting material down to thinnest market demands in highest product quality comes from Buschhütten, where all machines and systems are designed, manufactured and largely pre-assembled!", says Achenbach President & CEO André E.
