As part of the ‘Best Practice Production’ working group, global market leaders such as ABB, Drägerwerk AG & Co. KGaA, Miele, Sartorius Lab Instruments and the Vaillant Group recently met at Achenbach for an in-depth exchange of experiences. The working group was initiated by SDFS Smarte Demonstrationsfabrik Siegen GmbH (SDFS) and the WZL Machine Tool Laboratory at RWTH Aachen University.
📅 Over two days, board members, managing directors and plant managers discussed key, competition-relevant topics in production. The highlight, alongside the personal exchanges, was the tour of the Achenbach plant and the Buschhütten campus – including a session of critical feedback from the participants.
🔄 The mutual exchange of perspectives was particularly fascinating: from mass production to customised single-unit manufacturing at Achenbach, and vice versa: “At Achenbach, we are excellently positioned to continue manufacturing our products ‘Made in Buschhütten’ in the future. Nevertheless, the in-depth insights from international market leaders show that there are always areas where we can improve further,” said Sebastian Groos, Managing Director of Operations and IT at Achenbach.
