Long-term partnership is more than a promise — it is part of how we understand our role as a supplier.

For us, a product does not end with the delivery of first-class machinery. It always includes continuous support over the entire operating life of the equipment, providing the right solutions at every stage.

A recent project in Argentina demonstrates this approach in practice. For Aluar Aluminio Argentino saic, Achenbach delivered a new X-ray thickness gauging system for a reversing quarto cold rolling mill originally built in 1961. More than 60 years later, the mill is still in operation — modernized several times over the decades, most recently in 2007.

The newly installed system enables continuous, non-contact, real-time measurement of the strip’s centerline thickness, ensuring precise thickness control and consistent product quality. Project management and commissioning were carried out by Achenbach in close cooperation with IMS Messsysteme GmbH.

Our customer was very satisfied with the project. Fernando Giminski, Head of Maintenance and Project Engineering at Aluar, described the cooperation as a pleasure highlighting the professionalism and contributions of the on-site team. For us, this project once again shows what Life Cycle Support means in practical terms: supporting our customers not only at the start of a project, but throughout decades of operation.
