UniLub Oil Application System

Part of the Achenbach product range for Achenbach OPTIFOIL® Slitting Machines is the option to combine the slitting procedure with the defined oiling of the strip. Among other things, this is used to prepare the foil webs for a subsequent deep drawing process in a single step involving cutting and oiling.

A holistic approach.

The Achenbach lubricator is a contact-based distribution system to guarantee the uniform application of various oil and grease types on the surface of the material web. The speeds of immersion and application rollers are individually controlled by specific drives.

Pneumatic cylinders as infeed mechanism facilitate the calculation of the contact force between the two application rollers. The quantity of the oil to be applied is best regulated and uniformly distributed throughout the entire material width.

  • Applied quantities between approx. 200 and 800 mg/m²

At a glance

The lubricator usually consists of two immersion rollers with a scraper system, two application rollers and one heated storage tank for feeding the heated immersion trays. Either one- or double-side strip oiling can be realized.

As on the one hand the applied quantities are variable and on the other hand the oils and greases differ in their viscosity, the lubricator is designed to facilitate an application that is variable with regard to both, quantity and type of medium and strip speed.

Due to a roll handling system above the lubricator, an easy and quick changing of the immersion and application rollers is possible.

All materials used for the lubricator are perfectly suited for the use of aggressive media as well as for the food industry. Storage tanks and immersion rollers are made from high-class stainless steel. In addition, the coated application rollers can also be designed for higher lubricating temperatures.
