Strip Thickness Control Modules

The ACHENBACH OPTIROLL® i2 system contains efficient modules for the strip thickness control.

For the various applications specific control loops are available each assuring the best quality results:

• The Monitor Control (MOC) uses as entry control deviation the measuring signal of a thickness measuring system installed in the exit and corrects under depending on the mill behaviour the SCA screw-down position resp. other process parameter, e. g. tension and speed.
• The Feed Forward Control (FFC) uses as additional entry dimension the thickness deviation of the thickness measuring systems installed in the entry which can achieve still smaller tolerances via specially developed compensation functions.
• The Mass Flow Control (MFC) enables smallest tolerances where as with additional entry dimensions the strip speed signals are processed.

Model based functions to the rolling mill elongation compensation and to the compensation of tribologic and speed dependent effects in the roll gap, as well as an eccentricity compensation complete the modular control concept.
