Strip Flatness Measuring Rolls

The strip flatness measuring rolls licenced by the BFI have been built by Achenbach for decades as a central and quality dominating rolling mill module and are further developed permanently.
Measuring rolls which were built 15 years ago as disc-type rolls are still in application today. Today, two different roll types are available depending on the rolling application. According to the type of application, two new measuring roll types are available today:

• Solid measuring rolls with radial sensor installation have the advantages: robust design, highest measuring sensitivity – typical application: foil rolling mills
• Solid measuring rolls with axial sensor installation have the advantages: robust design, closed surface – typical application: strip rolling mills for aluminium, copper/brass/zinc and steel

Additionally the solid measuring rolls are available for higher strip temperatures with the additional advantage to be used at strip temperatures higher than 300°C, besides good measuring sensitivity and robust design.
